Hi Delta, this is what I found online, hope this help:

Sandalwood is an Indian tree, the wood of which is used to make many cosmetic and aromatic products. It is used in religious ceremonies and fine woodworking as well. Sandalwood is an ancient Indian Ayurvedic herb which has antimicrobial properties and is used for healing various skin problems. It is used in oil, paste and powder form and makes a perfect pick for regular facial skin care.

    Uses of Sandalwood Powder

    Oily Skin
Using sandalwood powder on the face is a good idea if your skin is oily as it removes the excess oil on your skin. Make a face mask of sandalwood powder and tomato juice and leave it on for 15 minutes. When used regularly, this will help control oiliness and tighten the skin pores as well. Today, there are many talcum powders available in the market that contain sandalwood as the main ingredient which can be used to stay away from that oily look.

    Wrinkles
Wrinkles are the first signs of aging which can make you look very unattractive and older. Sandalwood powder can keep your facial skin wrinkle-free and glowing for years. Apply a paste of sandalwood powder, rose water and glycerin on your face and neck regularly. With this you can have clear skin that looks younger.

    Acne
Sandalwood powder has antimicrobial properties and hence, it is an effective cure for acne. Sandalwood face pack, if used regularly, can help in getting rid of acne. Take 2 tbsp of sandalwood powder. Add rose water to form a paste. Clean your face and apply a thick layer of this pack over your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Now, wash off with cold water and apply a toner. You can also make a paste by using equal parts of sandalwood powder and turmeric powder in water and apply it over pimples. Wash off after 30 minutes. Both the recipes can be used regularly to diminish acne, regularly occurring pimples and blemishes. This mask is best for combination and oily skin.

    Tanned Skin
Skin areas that are commonly exposed to sunrays often get tanned. Sandalwood powder is very effective in removing suntan on your skin. Mix half cucumber, rose water, curd and sandalwood powder, and apply the paste over tanned skin. Wash off after 20 minutes with cold water. This will soothe your skin and reduce suntan. Make sure that you use this pack at least twice a week to completely reduce the suntan effect.

    Red Sandalwood Powder

Red sandalwood powder is not as popular as common sandalwood powder. Red sandalwood, also known as raktha chandan is one of the various types of sandalwood, which gets its name form its color. Moreover, it lacks the fragrance, which is one of the most basic characteristic of commonly used sandalwood. But, it has many cosmetic and medicinal uses, just like that of regularly used sandalwood. Using red sandalwood powder is a good option for those who are allergic to the regular sandalwood fragrance. Its paste can be used as a face pack to have a classy and glowing look. It also helps in acne scar removal and improves skin complexion.

Trying the aforementioned recipes of sandalwood powder will help you have a gorgeous looking facial skin. Apart from this, sandalwood powder is also effective in curing itching, burns, scars and sweating problems very effectively.
