    Tips to manage anxiety and stress :)

    Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure.It can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nervous, or even anxious.

    Stress can affect how you feel, think, behave and how your body works.The feeling of being “stressed” can be triggered by an event that makes you feel frustrated or nervous.Anxiety is stress that continues after that stressor is gone.There is little you can do to prevent stress, but there are many things you can do to manage stress and anxiety more effectively, so here are some tips to manage anxiety and stress.

    > When you're feeling anxious or stressed, these strategies will help you cope:

    > Take a time-out . Listen to music,Practice yoga, get a massage, meditate,or learn relaxation techniques.

    > Maintain a positive attitude. Make an effort to replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

    > Get involved. Volunteer or find another way to be active in your community, which creates a support network and gives you a break from everyday stress.

    > Learn what triggers your anxiety. Write in a journal when you’re feeling stressed or anxious, and look for a pattern.

    > Talk to someone.Tell friends and family you’re feeling overwhelmed, and let them know how they can help you.

    > Welcome humor. A good laugh goes a long way.

    > Get help online. Talk to a physician or therapist for professional help.

    No this is not true

    I have always taken good care of myself and eat well and exercise. Yet a week from periods I start getting anxious. Now as I hit perimenopause or not sure if it's brahmi (started a month ago) affecting thyroid that I am a crazy anxious nut. When you have panic attacks or anxiety you cannot get your mind to focus. When your hormones are going crazy how can this be a remedy. First thing is to get hormones under control. As of today I don't know how.

    Here are some tips

    1.Get enough sleep
    2.Smile. When work has got us down, it’s a good idea to take a quick break to get some giggles on.
    3.Eat right. Anxiety can throw our bodies totally out of whack: Our appetite might change, or we might crave certain food
    4.Learn to breathe. A useful tool to prevent panic attacks, the breath is also a great marker of where your anxiety level is at throughout the day.
    5.Meditate. By now most of us have heard that meditation is relaxing, but what scientists are also discovering is that meditation actually increases the amount of grey matter in the brain, essentially rewiring the body to stress less.
    6.Play around. Kids and animals seem to have an innate ability to play, without stressing about their overflowing inboxes.
    7.Visualize anything positive. When confronted with anxious thoughts, take a moment to visualize yourself handling the situation with calm, ease, and clarity.

    You guys covered almost everything.
    I would like to add this:
    -go to a holiday or visit a retreat center. It revitalizes the mind and body to deal with the stresses of everyday life back at home. Stretching out those knots and syncing your breath helps you let go of all that pain and tension you’ve been hanging on to with all those years working on wall street.     To deal with stress and anxiety there is no better way then Yoga and Meditation. It helps to deal with certain mental and physical problems.
    If you adopt Yoga and Meditation in your life routine you'll definitely feel changes. Its a tried and tested method.
