  • What can I eat or do to increase mucus?

I live part of the year in a very dry climate, and I have a kundalini yoga practice that includes a lot of Breath of Fire which I know can be very drying for the body-- it clears out a lot of mucus. The Master of Kundalini, Yogi Bhajan, suggests eating a little bit of dairy every day to rebuild the mucus in the body, but I personally prefer not to eat any dairy.
Does anyone know any other foods or maybe herbs that will have this same effect?
    Thanks!

Oh, I want to add that I've read that, aside from dairy, foods with wheat/gluten, soy or sugar help increase mucus, but I don't eat any of these because my body is too sensitive to them. I have a very clean rice/dal/veg/fruit diet. I've also read that potatoes help create mucus, but I have not seen any notable effect when I eat them.

Hey Alegria, I actually just read Steve Job book by Walter Isaacson and he mentioned a book to prevent the body from forming harmful mucus. The book is called "Muculess Diet Healing System" by
Arnold Ehret. I don't know if it's good but it might be worth a read.

I can advice you to eat wheat or even wheat products for increasing mucus. It is also said that few of the nuts plus seeds can be helpful in increasing mucus. Also fruits like watermelon, apples, oranges ,etc can be helpful.
