I am a 76 year old male and I am reasonably active in my daily routine. I had contracted typhoid about 4/5 months ago and I have almost recovered from sickness. But the weakness remains.
I have pitta , vata in excess and normal kapha in my body. I have been using ashwagandha for the last 10 or 12 years (half a tea spoon full once a day). Now I am becoming conscious of the fact that ashwagandha my be causing the pitta. That is why I am writing on this forum.
I shall be grateful if you , kindly, clarify the following.
{a} I am interested to know whether I can continue to take this much quantity {half a table spoon full} of ashwagandha. If it is not advisable, is there any alternative herb which I can use.
{b} Can I take shatavari capsule alongwith ashwagandha to counter its pitta effect.
{c} Will fennel {saunf} and/or pineapple be sufficient to counter the heating effects of ashwagandha.
