    We often observe different types of hair in different people. While some have dry hair others have only one and some others have normal hair. Is any particular type of hair more prone to dandruff than the rest?
    Please help me with a solution.

    The exact cause of dandruff is unknown.

    Factors that may contribute to dandruff:

    Seborrheic dermatitis (irritated, oily skin)
    People with seborrheic dermatitis are very prone to dandruff. Seborrheic dermatitis affects many areas
    of the skin.

    Dry skin
    People with dry skin tend to get dandruff more often.

    People who are sensitive to yeast have a slightly higher risk of having dandruff,

    Certain skin conditions
    People with psoriasis, eczema and some other skin disorders tend to get dandruff much more frequently than other people.

    Some illnesses
    People with weak immune systems may have dandruff more often than other people.

    Reaction to hair or skin care products
    Some people react to some hair care products with a red, itchy, scaling scalp.

    Malassezia is a fungus that lives on everybody's scalp. Generally, it will cause no problems at all. However, it can grow out of control. It feeds on the oils our hair follicles secrete. When this
    happens, the scalp can become irritated and produce extra skin cells. These extra skin cells die and falloff; they mix with the oil from the hair and scalp, and turn into what we see as dandruff.

    Not enough hair brushing
    People who do not comb or brush their hair regularly have a slightly higher risk of having dandruff - this is because they are not aiding the shedding of skin that combing or brushing

    Some experts say that people who do not consume enough foods that contain zinc, B vitamins, and some types of fats are more prone to dandruff.

    Mental stress
    Studies have shown that there is link between stress and many skin problems.

    • Take balanced diet on a regular basis that should include vegetables, grams, cereals, fruits, etc
    • Brush the scalp hair with a soft bristle brush
    • In severe dandruff condition, hair should be washed daily with shampoo
    • Comb hair properly on a daily basis for maintaining proper blood circulation
    • Prevent scalp from becoming oily and dirty
    • Get 7-8 hours good sleep Learn to relax on a regular basis

    • Avoid excessive intake of junk and oily food as well as tea, coffee, alcohol and other beverages
    • Avoid ordinary soap to wash hairAvoid using strong shampoo having artificial scents
    • Avoid rigorous hair wash
    • Avoid hair dryers to dry hair, let the hair dry naturally
    • Avoid dyes on the scalp hair as far as possible
    • Avoid oily and greasy applications in moderate and severe types of dandruff
    • Also use herbal anti-dandruff shampoos containing Tea tree oil, Hibiscus oil, Neem, rosemary oil, as this oil prevents recurrence of dandruff stimulates hair growth.

          We frequently watch distinctive kinds of hair in various individuals. While some have dry hair others have just a single and some others have ordinary hair. Is a specific sort of hair more inclined to dandruff than the rest?

          It would be ideal if you help me with an answer.

                  Add one teaspoon lemon juice to 1 egg white and apply to the scalp and hair once a week.
                  Mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice with 1 cup yoghurt. Apply this to the hair 20-30 minutes before washing the head and hair.
                  Soak 50 gm fenugreek in 2 cups of water overnight, make a paste in the next morning and apply on scalp for 15 minutes.

                  Diet & Lifestyle Advice
                  Wash hair 2-3 times a week with a mild shampoo.
                  Massage your hair with coconut oil or sesame oil before washing the head and hair.
                  Avoid spicy, greasy, hot and junk food, carbonated drinks are also to be avoided
                  Include fibre-rich food, salads, fruits and leafy vegetables.
                  Do regular exercise and yoga to minimize stress levels.
                  Avoid scratching your scalp with hands or other objects.
