  • Ayurveda and Acne

Ayurveda has a slightly different perspective. Ayurveda, the traditional healing system in India, makes the connection between acne, impaired digestion, and a build-up of toxicity in the body.

You see, in Ayurveda, everything in existence is made up of five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Space. These elements partner together to form ‘doshas’ or ‘types’ that influence our physical attributes and mental characteristics.

I believe ayurveda is such a natural system of medicine and because of which i resorted to it for resolving my skin issues, i started having amla giloy juice by Kapiva daily in my diet and it has improved my skin texture and my acne breakouts have stopped, which is a big deal for me. I would recommend this to anyone who struggles with acne and skin issues.

Acne is caused due to excess production of oil from the sebaceous glands leading to the blockage of hair follicles. Ayurveda has many several natural approaches that may help control acne. In Ayurveda, acne is referred to as 'Yauvan Pidika,' and is believed to be a manifestation of an aggravated Pitta dosha. Some ayurvedic kadha also helps in this.
