The Benefits of Ayurvedic Guggulus

Rate this Entry

Guggulu is one of the best known herbal anti inflammatory herbs of Ayurveda.

Four of the most popular forms are Yogaraj guggulu, Kaishore guggulu, Kanchanar guggulu, and Triphala guggulu.

Yogaraj guggulu is used to treat enlargement of the abdomen, peritonitis, rheumatism, neurasthenia, sciatica, and, most importantly, degenerative nervous system diseases (Vata derangements). It also has significant anti-inflammatory properties.

Kaishore guggulu is used to treat weak digestion, constipation, arthritis, boils, diabetic ulcers, abdominal tumors, leprosy, leukemia, cancer, psoriasis, and most inflammatory conditions associated with an imbalance of pitta or fire humour.

Kanchanar guggulu is useful in treating tumors, goitre and extra growths, wound healing, skin diseases, sinuses and fistula.

Triphala guggulu is well-known for its wound healing quality. It soothes the inflammed mucous layer and helps in checking the further infection.

None of these statements have been evaluated by the FDA. Before taking any herbal products, please consult with your practitioner.
