Exercise is the best way to keep all sorts of stress away. Daily exercise makes you feel refreshed and also increases your concentration. Exercising improves our overall health and keeps you fit and disease free. It also helps to maintain your immunity.

According to Ayurveda, every individual is different with different body constitution and accordingly the exercise suitable for him/her should also be  different.

As per Ayurveda, our body is constituted by the three doshas( tri-dosha) i.e.  Vata, Pitta and Kapha. These are the basic principles which connect our body, mind and biological humor.



For healthy body all the three doshas should be balanced. If there is  imbalance in any of the tri- doshas, one is likely to have some disease/disorder. From the symptoms caused due to imbalance between Vata, Pitta or Kapha dosha, one can identify his/her prakruti (body constitution) and accordingly decide which sort of exercise is suitable for them.   • VataDosha:

Vata is the kinetic element of Air and space which resides in the empty spaces of our body. It helps to govern our nervous system. These Vata personalities are flexible, love to exercise where there is stretching of body muscles or where they can have fun. Anything new and interesting catches their attention.

  4. Aerobics

What to avoid?

Vata personalities should avoid hectic exercise as it increases the swift motion of mind and body and results in cramping and pain. They should avoid going to the gym and lifting heavy weights.
